HEALTHCARE FOR PEOPLE WHO USE DRUGS
In collaboration with our participants and filmmaker Maya Gurantz, LA Community Health Project produced a series of videos that help people who use drugs get health care.
The videos cover the entire process of seeing a doctor: from walking into a clinic waiting room and talking to the front desk, from signing up for health insurance to having honest conversations with doctors and nurses.
A group of our participants, working as peer educators, met twice a month for 6 months to discuss their own experiences getting health care--what worked, what didn't, and what they wish they had known about the process that they wanted to share with their peers.
Our peers helped develop the content and starred in the videos, as well as creating a pamphlet called Healthcare is for Everyone.

In this video, prepared for LA Community Health Project, Dr. Phillip Coffin gives a training for prescribers on medicine and drug use. It will cover the major medical sequelae of drug use & approaches prescribers can use to improve the health of drug using patients
